How to navigate Marketing Automation

Modified on Thu, 23 Jan at 5:01 PM

This article walks you through Epsilo’s marketing automation capabilities, focusing on two major sections:

  1. Unified Campaign: A central hub that unifies performance insights, target tracking, and optimization at various levels—campaign, ad object, and ad placement.

  2. Hyper Automation: A scripting engine that lets you automate ad object and ad placement actions at scale, complete with a script log for tracking.

Unified Campaign

Performance Summary

  • What It Is: An eTable of scorecards providing a top-level view of your current key metrics (e.g., ROAS, GMV) compared to a previous period.
  • Example Business Question: “How does this month-to-date compare to last month’s month-to-date in terms of ROAS?”

Target Management

  • What It Is: A centralized view of your storefronts and performance metrics, benchmarked against targets or past data (e.g., daily GMV targets, historical performance).
  • Example Business Question: “Have I hit my daily GMV target in the past 7 days?”

Campaign Optimization

  • What It Is: A unified eTable displaying all your campaigns across multiple marketplaces and countries.
  • Key Benefit: For platforms without a native “campaign-level” concept (e.g., Shopee), Epsilo enables you to group ad objects into campaigns to take collective actions.
  • Hierarchy: This is the highest level of optimization in the Unified Campaign view.

Ad Object Optimization

  • What It Is: An eTable listing all your ad objects, a level below Campaign Optimization.
  • Use Case: Quickly enable/disable or adjust bids on specific ad objects without toggling through multiple marketplace interfaces.

Ad Placement Optimization

  • What It Is: The most granular level, listing all ad placements under each ad object.
  • Use Case: Execute mass actions on specific placements. For instance, filter placements under a certain ROAS benchmark that are broad match and edit them to exact match across all storefronts, countries, and marketplaces.

Hyper Automation

Ad Object Scripts & Ad Placement Scripts

  • What They Are: Two eTables that host your custom automation scripts—one dedicated to Ad Objects and another to Ad Placements.
  • Why It Matters: Automate repetitive tasks like pausing underperforming ad objects or switching placements from broad to exact when certain metrics are met.
  • Learn More: Learn how to make a hyper automation script here

Script Log (Script activity details eTable)

  • What It Is: A detailed log of each script’s checks and actions.

  • Key Insights: See when the script last ran, whether conditions were met, and what actions (if any) were taken.
  • Use Case: Quickly verify that automations are running correctly and making the intended changes.
