This reference guide clarifies the key metrics and columns you’ll encounter in Keyword Lab. Use these definitions to better interpret your data and optimize your keyword strategy.
Key Metrics/Columns
- Daily search volume: A moving average of daily keyword search volume. For example, today’s value = (Total search volume over the past 30 days) / 30.
- Mining: Refers to Epsilo’s AI-driven process of generating new keywords. “Mined keywords” or “mined search volume” come solely from Epsilo’s Keyword Lab (not from your storefront’s historical or current ad placements).
- Keyword Type: Typically labeled as Brand, Competitor, or Category.
- Brand keywords explicitly mention your own brand name.
- Competitor keywords explicitly mention a rival brand’s name.
- Category keywords do not include any brand name.
- Brand: Displays the brand name found in a keyword (e.g., “nike air force shoes” will show “Nike”).
- Advertised SKUs: The count of unique SKUs currently active on manual search ads for that keyword (reflects the real-time status).
- Activated Keywords: Keywords currently active in a manual search ad placement.
- Activated Search Volume: Search volume generated by Activated Keywords.
- Paused Keywords: Keywords previously active on a manual search ad placement but not active at present.
- Paused Search Volume: Search volume generated by Paused Keywords.
- Untouched Keywords: Keywords never before activated on a manual search ad placement.
- Untouched Search Volume: Search volume generated by Untouched Keywords.
- Addressable Keywords: The total pool of keywords in Keyword Lab (Activated + Paused + Untouched).
- Addressable Search Volume: The cumulative search volume of Activated + Paused + Untouched keywords.
- Status, product ads: Reflects the (Activated, Paused, Untouched) state for manual search product ads.
- Status, shop ads: Reflects the (Activated, Paused, Untouched) state for manual search shop ads.
- Peak daily ads GMV: The highest Ad GMV achieved in a single day over the last 6 months for that keyword.
- Peak BAU ads GMV: The highest Ad GMV in a single day over the last 6 months, excluding campaign days (i.e., BAU days only).
- Suggest bidding price: The average CPC that the marketplace recommends to both you and your competitors within your category.
- Current bidding price: This is the average bidding price that you have set for all active ad placements for that keyword.
